hey janejane: are you experiencing insomnia at the moment? did it not let up for you on Prozac when you were on it last time? my sleep is pretty appalling as it is, so i was hoping the Prozac insomnia would eventually desist

i've tried Melatonin tabs (3mg) in the past, which i would cut up, but found it hard to get the dose right, and pretty hit-and-miss as far as effect goes. right now i take Now Food's 1mg two-stage release tabs; taken alone, the melatonin is enough to get me to sleep, but i feel kind of aware that i'm dreaming the whole time and the sleep's really unrefreshing.

my pdoc prescribed low-dose amitriptyline to take alongside the Prozac which i take with the melatonin, and which allows for better sleep, but leaves me pretty groggy the next day.

so yeah, sorry about that ... it seems like Prozac's sleep-disrupting properties kinda overwhelm the melatonin .. it's enough to get me to sleep, but doesn't do much more than that i'm afraid .. maybe i'll try experiment with higher doses in the future
