The Food experiment, lol...sorta

Posted by WaterSapphire on August 31, 2008, at 5:37:10

I have come to a realization in this...

When eating large amounts of pizza (which I have not pigged out on anything in a very very long time), but hubby and I got pizza last night)...
When eating large amounts of pizza-
Too much salt is a bad bad thing-
Thanks to those of you on the board making me aware of the mag/calcium ratio and possibility of too much calcium being an agitator (JLK, bleauberry, etc.)---so so true.
I took my mag supplements for the first time yesterday in over a week, since I was trying to prepare for this one medical test and never got the jug to get it run or to the lab. (Have to depend on my mom cuz our car is down). I could hold off from the magnesium no longer. I also needed a good glass of gatorade yesterday early on. I was weak, sick, had restless legs, and a bit of the tremor. So, I took two slow mags, and two mag oxides and a bit glass of gatorade. I laid down. I had a peaceful slumber and woke up feeling very very very good. I went to sleep again late in the middle of the night and awoke at 5:00 am bloated and agitated beyond belief. Now, there may be other medical things causing the agitation and I understand this. My calcium in March I think it was was slightly low, and on another test before that was at the lowest end of the rung for normal. SO, I cannot nix calcium out of my diet...but I cannot cannot have too much.
Lots of pizza='s certain torture. It is the cheese. When I eat cheese in small amounts but make sure I have had enough magnesium in the past, it seems to be much much longer lasting and better for me. One of the things I have also added to my diet so long as I eat it, is three tablespoons of nutritional yeast. This may sound gross, but if you mix it in cooking or something it is not bad. I like it in sodium free or low sodium broth. I have also used it in pasta.
Lots of food, can be bad...but lots of food with too much calcium...very very bad.

Back on the diet wagon lol. For more than one reason at all.
