Folic Acid vs. Calcium folinate

Posted by circusboy on March 4, 2007, at 11:00:09

A month or so ago, I started taking a folic acid supplement in addition to my multi. It's helped quite a bit -- I've even been able to stop taking SAM-e (which is good, because I'm pretty sure the SAM-e had been raising my heart rate and blood pressure).

Anyway, when I was shopping for my next bottle, I came across a product that contains *calcium folinate* instead of the usual folic acid. The label claims that this form of folate is more bioavailable. Searching this board, I only found one mention of calcium folinate:

Anyone have any comments/experience? Is calicum folinate worth the ~$10 bioavailabiliy tax? :)
