Licorice causes bad and immediate depression with me, most likely due to it's cortisol increasing characteristics. I'd be wary of anyone taking this if they already have high cortisol levels.
OTOH, people with sluggish adrenals and low cortisol levels will most likely be helped. If it works I'd say keep using it. :)
