I'm suffering from lack of energy, motivation, oversleeping, and a general sense of apathy. I'm neither sad nor suicidal, just lacking a will to get out of bed. Several years ago I started using an over-the-counter supplement with ephedra and caffeine in it. Aside from being sweaty and jittery, I actually felt more passionate and motivated to do things. It wasn't a cure by any means, but I felt a lot better than I had in a long time.
Since the crackdown on ephedra, I find it hard to find ephedra. I finally found some but it was mixed with guaifenesin. I took it and found that it caused weakness, light-headedness and drowsiness instead of motivation and wakefulness.
Does anyone know if you can still buy ephedra in a pure form or mixed with caffeine? Or, do you know any herbs and alternatives that work in a similar way that might be easier to find?
I notice that massive amounts of caffeine (downing espresso shots like there's no tomorrow and taking green tea pills) makes me jittery and awake but not with a real DRIVE to do anything. I don't just want to be unable to sleep, but to have motivation to go outside of my bedroom and do something with my life.Any suggestions?
