There is a book called The Mood Cure by Julia Ross that covers all this stuff in pretty good detail.

In a nutshell...

Taurine...500mg to 3000mg a day...your mood stabilizer, calming, and helps everything else work better.

Gaba...500mg to 1500mg a day, added if needed for calming.

5htp...50mg to 300mg a day.

Tyrosine...500mg to 3000mg a day.

Fish oil...as much as you can handle.

Balanced amino acid complex (with about 20 aminos in it, including trytophan).

Important vitamins...all the B's, C, E, D, chromium, selenium, magnesium.

In addition, a probiotic for the gut is an often overlooked area. You want lots of the good bacteria in there crowding out the bad ones. Hidden gut problems which are very common often result in psychiatric symptoms.
