I know this is belated...and decidedly non-herbal, but i was reading Richard Brown's SAM-e book (I know, I feel like the latecomer at a party that has actually already left the building)and it mentions that it promotes Phospholipid methylation. He says, quite vaguely, that it is "important for phospholipid methylation, which helps maintain the flexibility of the cell membrane, keeping in more youthful. Through methylation, SAM-e also boosts the production of phosphatidylserine, a phospholipid important for both mood and memory."
I imagine that you'll know what to do with that nugget more than I, Linkadge...
