> magnesium phosphate
> magnesium orotate
> magnesium aspartate
> Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate

You're right about aspartate and phosphate doesn't sound too good either.

Magnesium orotate is one type I've just started taking. In a previous discussion, Larry H. said that the orotic acid itself may have ant-depressive properties. In the kind I have, there's 1,000 mg of orotic acid which includes 75 mg of magnesium. I bought the powder and filled my own capsules and have been taking 2 at a time, so only about 150 mg of magnesium. But I take other varieties as well. One time when I took 3 capsules I got a terrible headache! Not sure what that was about. Magnesium orotate is especially recommended for heart disease, I've read. So perhaps it has some extra blood vessel expanding properties and that's what gave me the headache. Just chatting, I don't mean to discourage you away from mg orotate at all. I'm still taking it, just not that much at a time.

Anyway, is there anyway you can determine what the "Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate" is chelated with? Is it Solgar brand, by any chance? Because I believe that IS magnesium glycinate from what others have said on this site previously.

If not, from this Solgar Australia site, you can find out where Solgar brand products are sold nearest you: http://www.solgar.com.au/
