This is a slow response, but I just found this board. I have had trouble sleeping due to really bad panic attacks, I have a lot of anxiety at night - my mind won't shut off. Since I prefer an holistic approach, I tried Melatonin, but did not find it helpful. While I would eventually fall asleep, I would not stay asleep. When I was w/d'ing from alcohol, I was four days into sleep deprevation and took three 3mg Melantonin tabs and it did nothing. Now I take Calm Forte. I take one or two in the day if I am feeling anxious, three at night to sleep - great washed down with a cup of extra strength Sleepy Time. I hear that prolonged use of Melatonin isn't good, but I haven't heard anything negative about the Calms Forte. I buy it at the health food store or GNC.I think it's great.

I don't completely understand its relationship to depression. I've heard warnings about it and I've read on the bottles that it's contraindicated for people with depression but then I've also read that it's good for depression.
