I've resumed taking zinc (carbonate form) after some time. 50mg per day seemed too much for me (headaches of the sinus kind). So I dropped down to 25mg. Still have the same effect.
Is this common?
Is it dose related, or should I use another form of zinc?
Also, I notice my product includes calcium carbonate and dicalcium phosphate. I already know I have a calcium sensitivity (headaches), esp. to carbonate form. Could this be the cause (the amounts must be very low, though, as they are listed in "other ingredients")?Why do so many mineral supplements also contain various forms of calcium? Are they used to stabilize, because they are metals? I try to steer clear of all supplemental forms of calcium "just in case" and it's very difficult.
What is the most effective form of Zinc, and what is an average therapeutic dose?
Thanks
Jas
