pyroluria and pyridoxal 5 phosphate

Posted by tantalos on September 13, 2004, at 13:07:52

Does anyone know why I would be getting tired from any supplementation of pyridoxal 5' phosphate? I've been diagnosed pyroluric, and my doctor told me to do what I was doing before and move up to 50mg of P5P. Even when I break the capsule and have only 5mg worth, I get extremely tired/lethargic. Anyone know what might be going on? Serotonin production may be?

Adding this doesn't seem like the right thing to me. And it seems like my doctor perhaps didn't include the fact thatthe 100mg of B6 plus the 2.5mg p5p that is in my multi-vitamin, might be enough. I am not sure. But any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
