It's really clear what it does do, but at least it is nontoxic. Perhaps it relieves some portion of oxidative stress on sulphur metabolism, by serving as an alternative source for sulphuration reactions.
TMG is not hard to find, in my experience. I buy Source Naturals brand tablets because you don't seem to pay a premium over bulk purchases, despite the obvious cost of portioning and pressing into tablets.
