There are two recycling pathways for "spent" or "used up" SAMe. Used SAMe becomes homocysteine, and B12 and folate (as biopterin) contribute to one pathway for homocysteine to become methionine. The other pathway requires TMG. Taking nutrients for both pathways is sensible, because either one may not be working well in depressed individuals.

Not directly.

L-methionine increases SAMe levels, but you're better off turning homocysteine into methionine, as high homocysteine levels are toxic to the circulatory system.

> LinkadgeThere is no Upper Limit for B12 intake. You can't overdose, or at least, there has never been a reported case of toxic overdose. I use 1,000 mcg tablets myself.
