Sometimes obsessivness comes as a byproduct of depression, ADHD etc, and not as disease in itself.
For instance, many people with ADHD obsess about things, because they never have the feeling of completion that comes when the disease is helped.
Oftentimes when the depression is cured, then many of the secondary syptoms ie pain, insomnia, fatigue, obsesivness etc all come back into line.
Oftentimes when the brain is given that extra boost that it needs, it is able to allign other neurotransmitter systems as well.
There was an artical saying that with chronic use of wellbutin, the serotogenic system was affected as well (even though this is not directly affected by the drug)
Anyhow, 5-htp would be safe to take with Wellbutrin. It is worth a try.I am on a very low dose of Celexa 10mg, and so far have not had any of the smyptoms of serotonin syndrome. I had serotonin snydrome once while on St. Johns wort.
Best of Luck
