In reply to how does L-Tryrosine work? -amphetamine withdrawl, posted by 1980Monroe on December 28, 2003, at 19:46:33
Stimulants basically displace the dopamine, norepinephrine from the terminal sites. Eventually the storage sites become depleated.
Tyrosine is the precursor amino acid to dopamine and norepinephrine. Theoretically it can help restore neurotransmitter levels at the storage vessicle. It generally will not provide any stimulant effects, but can ease withdrawl.
If you are going to succeed, you will need to swich your diet to mainly polyunsaturated oils. Omega 3 in fish oil, olive oil etc.

explains how deficiancies in polyunsaturated fats (namely omega 3), will lead to dopamine depletion.
Aside from these two, vigorous exercise will help, although painful, and not initially rewarding.
Best of Luck
