I would suggest trying the carbs that don't turn into sugar as fast and thus give you a sustained release of energy. For example, brown rice, whole wheat bread, wheat pasta , potatoes with the skin on (it helps slow down the conversion to sugar) etc. You still need to remember to eat lots of protein as well. Also, the 'white' carbs can increase depression so changing to more complex carbs has helped with my depression as well.

>There really isn't a name for it other than some people are more sensitive to sugar, especially those that fight depression. There is a great book that describes it and helps you learn how to eat so you don't get tired. I don't remember the exact name but it's something like 'The Sugar Addicts Guide...' It sounds really hokey but it really works. A few of my friends have even read it that don't fight depression and they see a lot of benefit in energy, mental alertness, and weight loss (just an added bonus).
