I don't know...I've been curious about that. Maybe you can help me figure that out...
they don't measure blood...they look at urine.

>>>>>>>>>> Roo, I was just reading more of their site....yes, the urinary excretion of the neurotransmitters does correlate very well with symptoms/symptom removal, they say.

I'm not sure how accurate the level
testing is...but I figure in any case if the seratonin went from 119.0 to 575.0...those things
must be affecting something....

>>>>>>>>> Yeah, they say they can get pin-point accuracy of NT levels through that process...the most important thing is to achieve the proper BALANCE of the NT systems. Once the proper balances have been achieved, they say you should be feeling much better...so they're probably still tweaking yours, right? They also say that just missing ONE or two doses can cause symptoms to return...DON'T miss any doses (have you? if so, have you noticed any worsening?)

I thought about this yesterday, and I should also say...I'm not
selling my soul to depression either. That's a tricky balance to
figure out...you can lose your soul to depression, and you can lose
your soul to medication...for me the trick is to be on just barely enough...
enough to keep me from totally losing it, but enough so that I still
have to deal with my emotions.

>>>>>>>>>>> Whatever works ROO...whatever works.

Do you have health insurance?

>>>>>>>>> I work but no, I don't have health insurance...but I've got money to try this out...what is the most expensive costs of this...the NT testing? the products? the dr. visits? (all together, I can see where it could get expensive, lol)

I never had much luck
with the natural approach until this either.

>>>>>>>>>> Me neither so far Roo.

Meditation probably worked better than any of that. This has
helped. It's not perfect and I still have to deal with some pretty
intense moods...where I'm VERY tempted to just medicate myself...but
I think it does help. I really suggest meditation. Read that article, really--
meditation helps, Mcphat, I aint lyin.

>>>>>>>>>> I do believe that meditation can help Roo...I know it helps many folks...I used to do it somewhat...I'll have to do it again.

You can call my doctor for reccommendations...maybe he would
even work with you over the phone...I don't know, but his number
is 919-967-8400.

>>>>>>>>>>> Roo, the Neuro site responded to my e-mail just today...they gave me 2 dr's in my area to contact...I will contact them tomorrow. Thanks so much for offering your doc's #...I appreciate that tremendously!

I would try it...what can it hurt?

>>>>>>> exactly!

It is expensive though. That's
a drawback.

>>>>>>>>>>>> I hear ya...anything in the medical profession is expensive (bummer).

Yes, it's okay to be on meds...I am. Are you bipolar?

>>>>>>>>> Likely so (yes...but the depression is the vastly dominant feature...the highs are almost non-existant and only 'mini' hypo highs (actually probably more irritability rather than the elated type)

How are you though? Are you feeling shitty?

>>>>>>>>>> lol.....yeah, right now I am...meds have worked VERY well for me...but I have a very bad reaction from the ssri's (see below) yet they do work well...I'm trying Lexapro now...I know I'd feel better dep/ocd-wise increasing it (but it CAUSES terrible anger/irritability/agitation in me...lithium helps counter that somewhat)..yet I DO need the Lexapro for both ocd and depression (terrible without it)....hopefully this new treatment will help, even a decent amount, and I can reduce my meds somewhat...that would be great for me....make sure that place keeps tweaking your NT levels until you feel even better Roo...and don't miss any doses...take care Roo!
