aside from the extra doses (if needed, more day long sedation), I don't see much difference. lyrica has been more popular in the UK and EU than in the US, at least for core psych indications (agitation, anxiety, co-treatment of depression and more severe disorders), and...
-sigh- predictably, long term treatment can result in a definite discontinuation syndrome upon stopping. and predictably, -some- treatment providers have loaded people up, then rapidly tapered, leaving -some- people in states of extreme misery...
and that's probably going to result in more restrictions, warnings, I'm guessing litigation, maybe (?) at some point in the not so distant future.
i dunno. i"m prescribed a baby dose (max: 300mgs/daily) of gabapentin. i rarely take it. now, my psych person is eyeing me with suspicion for even having a prescription...
and yet I get refills. ugh. Psychopharmacological Puritanism bothers me, even though I don't currently need the gabapentin (most days), much less anything that might actually --- gasp! --- prove the least bit "fun."
blah.
