does diagnosis matter?

Posted by Christ_empowered on February 6, 2020, at 18:42:48

and if so, to whom? to what end?

I have another med check/adjustment coming up, and...yeah. yeah. is it Bipolar I? is it "really" Schizophrenia" oh, wait..meet in the middle, call it Schizoaffective. awesome.

and then...'personality disorders.' who decides who is "severely mentally ill' vs dealing with a 'severe personality disorder' ? does it matter? i mean...the drug-centered treatment that most in the US receive, regardless of social situations, diagnosis, etc...

why the emphasis on diagnosis? is it 'jargon' and 'mystification,' to cover up that the 'helping professions' don't help that much, and that 'standard treatment' is often a dismal failure?
