Parnate and Anaesthetics hip replacement surgery

Posted by rose45 on October 26, 2019, at 7:49:08

Has anyone remained on parnate while having hip replacement surgery?

I have had 3 operations whilst on parnate, including having my appendix taken out. But now the anaesthetist is delaying my operation for hip replacement, when I insisted that I cannot come off the parnate.

I have spoken to Dr Gillman, and he says it is perfectly safe, and has written a document on the subject https://psychotropical.com/maois-and-anaesthesia/

I am very annoyed that they are delaying my operation because of this and wonder whether anyone else has had hip replacement surgery whilst on an maoi, and whether any precautions had to be taken.
