I have taken Abilify (aripiprazole) at 20 mg/day for a few years, and then 10 mg/day, which I am currently taking. I never became impulsive or compulsive. However, Abilify is somewhat like Mirapex (pramepexole) and Requip (ropinerole). The latter two drugs are known to produce compulsive gambling as a side effect. They are full agonists at dopamine receptors, while Abilify is only a partial agonist. Perhaps there are other mechanisms involved, I don't know.
