theories about my condition

Posted by hello123 on July 6, 2015, at 22:53:39

i had planned to get more info togethe before i posted about this. but, i just want to see what people think. i`ll try keeping this post from getting too long.

my problem has been the terrible, seemingly permanent effects ive had from some psychiatric meds. and ive wondered why i react to mefs in such crappy ways. ive figured the encephalitis brain infection i had when in 2001 likely had something to do with my med reactions. i was a pretty normal teen before i took my first dose of psych meds in 2005. of course i did have problems that led to me deciding to try Cymbalta, Geodon and Adderall then. it was awesome with the adderall the first few weeks, and then all hell broke loose and ive not been thevsame since.

but, to get to the main reason for my post, ive started reading up on possible longterm effects a short term brain infection can have on the brain. ive read about possible damage deep in the brain that cant be detected by brain scans. and what really caught my thoughts was chronic inflammation being kicked off by injury to the brain (tho i only found this mentioned in articles on traumatic brain injuries, and not not-traumatic ones like i had) and
ive read aboit chronic, low grade infections. and if i recall correctly at the moment, there is suspicion
there is some thinking that a hronic, low grade infection with Lyme Disease can cause problems for sufferers. problems like chronic fatigue syndrome. ironically, the same bacteria that causes Lyme Disease is what caused the form of Encephalitis i had from a cat scratch.

anyway, if youre following, im starting to wonder if its possible that i might could have a chronic, low grade infection that keeps my immune system on high alert. something ive noticed ever since my bout with
Encephalitis is that i VERY rarely get sick. and if i do ever feel ill at all, it is very mild and lasts maybe half a day. ive read on forums where folks with autoimmune disorders post, describe how ever since tbey developed their disorder, they too rarely
get sick. and they speculate this is because their immune system is overactive.

...and since the immune system is now believed to play a role in some brain/mood disorders, im pondering that something going on in my brain/body that could be causing my immune system to be overactive. and that this could possibly be contributing to my condition and how ive reacted to psych meds. ive had, if i remember correctly, an MRE and PET scan done, as well as a blood test done that showed nothing abnormal. but still, i wonder.

im just trying to look at any possible cause. and want to see if anyone has any info or experience to share.
