our lives are filled with chemicals additives that we take in throughout the day, every day. many foods we eat have many additives that have no place in our diet. theres really no telling what the chemicals in foods, like artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, pesticides and the chemicals added to give foods a certain texture/consistency are doing to us. even many medications have artificial food coloring and sweeteners added to them. not to mention the pollutants like mercury that ocean fish are exposed to. even in most dog foods, where artificial colors make no difference to how appealing the food is to the dog, companies add them anyway to make them more appealing to humans, in hopes they'll be more likely to continue buying this brand for their dog.

then there are all the pollutants we are exposed to in our environment. even if, for the most part, we are only exposed to what ever the level environmental agencies decide are acceptable, what are these pollutants doing to us over our lifetime? after 10, 20, 30 50, 80 years of exposure on a daily basis? or what they do to the genetics we pass down to our offspring that could cause difficulties at some point in their life.

really, our lives are filled with pollutants and chemicals. and i think one would have move to the moon to get away from all of them. but even then, then there are still untraviolet rays from the sun that can cause advanced skin aging and possibly skin cancer and cataracts in the eyes.

but yeah, its basically a constant battle to avoid and rid your body of toxins. especially if you live within a thousand miles of civilization. so i say, just get informed on what youre exposed to in foods and water, as well as in your environment. just look at the ingredients in your can of soup or your box of macaroni. google environmental pollutants and how they make their way into our bodies, or through our food and water supply. and try to avoid them without making your life unnecesarily difficult. but then again, if one is suffering, one might have to go completely of their way to avoid certain toxins to get to feeling better.

oh and also, chemicals that are readily recognized as dangerous by the FDA, are used to coat food containers that our foods come in. these chemicals can easily get into the food, but arent required to be listed on the ingredients label. at the moment, i cant think of the certain chemicals or the exact reasons theyre used. bht they have just as much place in our diet as a bottle of shampoo does.
