In reply to Lou's reply and warning from Robert Burton's post-, posted by Lou Pilder on March 14, 2015, at 22:17:26

im not sure i understand exactly what the main argument behind the posts in this thread are about. and i know some of the things Lou posts can seem outrageous at times. but, the majority of Americans see opponents of Psychiatry as crazy. and believe people like Peter Breggin are just alarmists.

i cant be too sure about the motives of Peter Breggin or Lou Pilder, but id say simce they see the logic that puting a Chemical in ones brain/body, that alters its functioning in such a profound way, can, in some cases, lead to dire circumstances in someones life. we all are genetically different, and react different to the chemicals our brains are exposed to. so, even if a huge majority have no severe reactions to these chemicals, one having their brain function altered in a permanent way that negatively affects their life shouldnt be ignored. this is only going to lead to this minority suffering even more, because they are ignored by the Medical Community. there is no funding for research and development of ways to help these people who have such a small voice compared to the mainstream.

some of you might remember me mentioning my experiences with Psychiatric Meds. Long story short, i went from being an athletic teen who loved being around friends before i ever took Psych Meds, to being basically the opposite within 2 months after starting them. that was about 10 years ago, and even going years without taking any brain altering, i still dont improve any. when ive mentioned my experience to psychiatrists, they either pay no mind to it, or say "thats impossible.". and one psychiatrist out of the many Psych "Professionals" ive seen over the past 5 years wrote in his notes that i was "Borderline Psychotic" and told me im delusional for thinking meds affected me thecway they have. no other psychiatrist even considered this delusional. While one focused on how ive been negatively effected by meds, and tried to treat it.

People who are in the minority with their severe experiences with medications, with side effects that arent mentioned in the mainstream, dont get the respect and recognition they deserve. and it is only benefitting the Drug Companies, whose main motive is to stack their wealth even higher, when the public ignores the cries of this minority who suffer tremendously.

and no, i dont know how big or small this minority is. i just know there arent as many posts that ive seen on the net, from people describing seemingly life ruining experoences with meds, compared to people who havent described such an experience. but i think these experiences happen more often than we think. there is even belief that chronic use of psych meds can lead to worsening of their mood, that can be treatment resistant in certain people.
