I am guessing that Abilify has greater utility treating the negative symptoms of schizophrenia than positive symptoms. You can add a second AP for positive symptoms or as a hypnotic. Risperdal is usually better for negative symptoms, but not for sleep induction. Seroquel should help with sleep, but may not be as effective for positive symptoms. Actually, I see Abilify interfering with Seroquel in a way that necessitates dosage escalation of Seroquel to 800 mg/day or higher. Interestingly, some people report that Abilify helps with anxiety, but I am seeing anxiety emerge with its discontinuation in people who had no anxiety before its introduction.

If sleep and/or anxiety are the primary symptoms you need to address, I think Seroquel makes sense to add. If paranoia and depression are involved, Saphris is worth exploring. Of course, in the absence of positive symptomatology, your choices increase. Perhaps low-dose Remeron taken at night makes sense.

I hope other people chime in on this.
