> Thanks for your feedback. Yes I was at 300mgs and he said to drop it to 150mgs immediately as it shouldn't be a problem as I am all of a sudden getting akathisia on seroquel. It was a problem after 10 days so I went back up to 300mgs.

With most meds, the first reductions tend to be easier than the later reductions ie. as the dose gets lower, you may need to reduce in smaller steps.

For example, 300mg, 250mg, 200mg, 150mg, 125, 100mg, 75mg, 50mg, 25mg, 12.5mg, 12.5mg as needed, stop. The gap between the steps should depend on how you feel. After long-term treatment, it's normally best to reduce over a period of a few months, unless there's an urgent need to stop for some reason. If you've only been on it for a few weeks, more rapid reduction is likely to be possible. Of course, you may need a replacement medication, which can often be started part way through the taper and gradually increased as Seroquel is decreased. Ask you doctor for a selection of different tablet strengths to help you, including plenty of 25mgs.

It also depends whether you need to stop Seroquel or simply reduce the dose down to a tolerable level. Whichever you do, don't rush, listen to what your body is telling you. If you feel worse after the reduction, it's probably because you're reducing too fast.

Take care.
