clonidine for anxiety?

Hi,

I've been prescribed clonidine as a temporary sleep-aid, but find it tremendously useful for treating the anxiety and restlessness I've been experiencing on Riluzole. It does exacerbate my fatigue and cause some sleepiness, but I'm willing to put up with that for the time being.

I was just wondering how regularly I can dose throughout the day, and if it's okay to use on a prn basis, or is it dangerous to stop suddenly?

Also would using it for anxiety result in tolerance to its sleep-inducing effects?
