what's it like to be hospitalized?
it depends on the hospital, but basically the general description is they hold people who are mentally incompetent, either causing harm to themselves or others, and also mentally ill people who are on the street and are not able to keep a normal profile. Example....walking around saying there Jesus Christ ready to take people to heaven, or simply talking to people that arnt there, lots of things.... I went to the psych hospital because I thought Lucifer was going to take over my body in the panic state, because I had been doing research on him and learning all these things to open your mind to the spirit world....and it backfired and I ran like crazy to the JPS psych part....I should of went to a pastor, or a catholic church, that really wasn't a psych issue....but they put me on tons of Geodon and Zyprexa and Depakote. Not fun....believe me the only thing good about a psych hospital is just having some peace on the amount of heavy drugs they admister to make the psychosis go away. Or suicidal indication.....I was sedated most of the time I was there.the usual time to stay stay is couple days to a week until stabilization is confirmed and then they discharge you, basically meaning you appear nowmal and are not doing, or reporting anything abnormal that would cause homicidal, psychotic, suicidal, or mood and anxiety destabilization. There's a lot more of that.....that I don't know, but that's what I've learned from being at 2 real psych stays.
For disability ... its like a documented fact that there something causing disability...they don't have disability for someone who's just depressed.....well, I don't know, im not a social worker, ill have to read the entire government book on that, attention issues would prevent that from happening lol...
