I have not encountered anything that would lead me to believe that there is an adverse interaction between these two drugs. I had no problem combining Effexor 300 mg/day with nortriptyline 75 mg/day. I did not add mirtazapine to this combination, but Effexor + mirtazapine has had a reputation for being a particularly good treatment for TRD.
