This is only one of countless bizarre things that can happen with any tick bite. There is an entire chapter in a book devoted to explaining the science of what happens when a tick punctures the skin and it is quite startling stuff.
Due to the neuro toxins involved in the aftermath of a tick bite, and the perversion of the immune system which ties into the brain, it is not a surprise to me that almost everyone who has had a tick bite...and many don't recall having one though they did have one...a most common symptom is depression, with or without unexplained anxiety, panic attacks, or schizo-like behavior.
