I have always done well on the generic from Amneal (which was available from Walgreens). I had considerable adverse effects when I tried a version from Torrent.

Amneal is also what I have mostly taken in the past. The only reason I stopped taking it is because Walgreen's generic clonazepam was terrible (Mylan) so I started going to CVS to get Teva.

Now that I think back on it, the last two times I started Celexa I had terrible experiences and they were both using CVS generics (Aurobindo).

Well, I decided to try getting another brand. Walmart and Target both carry Indian brands as well (Dr Reddy's and Torrent). So I called CVS and asked them to order some Sandoz and fill my next refill (ahead of time, no insurance to help). I picked it up tonight.

It was EXACTLY the same as the Aurobindo. Same color, same shape, etc. I stared in disbelief and they brought out the Sandoz bottle to show me.

So I went home, took out my remaining Aurobindo citaloprams and compared them to the Sandoz ones. They were IDENTICAL. Same markings on the front and back, everything. The description on the labels was even the same, for the color, shape, markings etc. Only difference on the label was the supposed manufacturer.

I went back to CVS and they were gracious enough, when presented with the evidence (I brought my Aurobindo bottle with me as well) to refund my money and transfer the prescription to Walgreen's where I could get Amneal. The other brands CVS could order were Indian (Torrent, Dr Reddy's). I asked about Greenstone and the pharmacist said that according to the computer, they were discontinuing their product.

Anyway just wanted to give a big warning to anyone thinking of getting Sandoz generics. They are apparently outsourcing them to Aurobindo and not putting it anywhere on the label (I looked at the Sandoz bottle label and it said the pills were manufactured by some other firm in New Jersey, it never mentioned Aurobindo).

Here's hoping the Amneals work like they have in the past.
