Sertraline, Wellbutrin and Methylphenidate

Posted by Exisessentialist on May 29, 2012, at 14:35:28

Hi, all. I've been taking nortriptyline 100 mg, Sertraline 200 mg and Tryptophan 8 g for about two weeks as a combination. The sertraline and tryptophan I've been on for a couple of months but nortriptyline was a recent addition, though I've been on it at lower doses titrating up for 8 weeks. I haven't noticed much in terms of antidepressant effect with the addition of the nortriptyline yet. I'm still thinking of giving it two more weeks just to ensure that I'm giving it a fair chance but I'm also considering medication options if it doesn't alleviate things greatly in the next two weeks. I've been thinking of transitioning off tryptophan and nortriptyline while remaining on the sertraline and adding methylphenidate and wellbutrin. I've had a positive response to wellbutrin twice in the past, though I had to discontinue it a few years ago believing that it was causing me hypertension, though it was more likely a result of chronic use of phenylephrine for severe sinus pain that just wouldn't abate. Any thoughts on dosages or transition protocol for these medications? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
