my plan

Posted by poser938 on May 22, 2012, at 16:37:44

it may not sound like the best plan, but it seems to be all i can come up with. i have been talking with a pharmacist at a compounding pharmacy ever since i got my ketamine filled there. he has some ideas for some herbs or some kind of supplement i can try to help with my problem. as i said before, my problem is from my brain not reverting back to normal after getting messed up by meds. effexor and mirapex were the worst on me. i know there are many other meds that i havent tried, but i dont thinkg any of them are worth trying. the only medication that has EVER helped my brain is Cyproheptadine. i believe it helps to fix the problem that mirapex caused. mirapex gave me severe anhedonia.

but, my psychiatrist is looking at it in a way that less = me feeling better.. going by how cyproheptadine is a serotonin antagonist, so he is ordering supplements that work to lowere serotonin levels. he also mentioned something about "methylation", but i'm not sure what that is.

other than that, i plan to find out where the private practice is for the psychiatrist i saw in a crisis stabilization unit. i had gone there 3 times and she is a great doctor that, instead of telling me i'm delusional about psychiatric meds effecting me long term, she wants to look at how those meds might have effected me, and to fix the problem. now my plan with her is what the compounding pharmacist thought up to do with the cyproheptadine. when i was taking it, i had gotten to a VERY high dose and while it was working to fix the problem i had to stop taking it because of the high dose. that was a year and a half ago when i stopped taking it and i dont think my tolerance is going away. and while most of its effects have gone away.. some of them are sticking with me.. such as vivid dreams every single night. i am confident that had i been able to stay on it until my brain had gotten back to its "pre-mirapex" state, then that would have stuck with me. but, the pharmacist plans to put the cyproheptadine in a transdermal form to wear on my skin.. which means i will be able to start at a much lower dose while getting the same effect of high doses of it. while i'm on it i ill have to raise the dose by 1mg about every 3 or 4 days because it stops benefitting me after that.

when i was tkaing it a year and a half ago, i had to take it off and on.. sometimes going over a month without it. had i have been able to stick with it for about 6 months taking it everyday i probably would have gotten better. but this time i plan to have a doctor on my side prescribing the medication.. instead of me ordering it online.

i dont know how this might sound to others, but i think this is the only chance i have at a normal life again. i'm starting to feel like i am too unwell to even be posting on psychobabble. i having a hard time puting thoughts together and i just feel so blank!
