Well on the bright side at least you have a clue to work with. Headaches that don't respond well to pain relievers, and depression worsens along with it.....sounds like inflammation to me. That's the clue. You are dealing with inflammation. Question is, where is it coming from? Are you eating a food your body is intolerant of? You maybe don't know the answer to that because maybe you've never heard of it or never tried rotation diets to try to pinpoint problem foods? Everyone is different in that regard, but nothing impacts our health or illness more than what we put in the grocery cart. Lyme disease? Ever lived in a tick area? Ok if not Lyme, there are dozens of other bacteria, fungi, and viruses that can look just like it. Bad headaches happen to be almost universal in stealth hidden unsuspected chronic infections.

I think you are dealing with more than depression here. The depression is probably a result of whatever it is, or is at a minimum aggravated by it.

Example. What do the hidden pathogens do? They eat, and then of course poop and pee....into your bloodstream....imagine what those toxic waste chemicals do when they hit your brain cells, neurotransmitters, and receptors.

I think you have some detective work to do....primarily through self experimentation, not labs because they are not likely to help in any way and could likely hurt you badly if you get a negative test when in fact you are positive (not many tests are reliable, and even when they are they are based on a general sample of people not based at all on your own body.

At least you a clue now. Run with it.

I am really really familiar with the landscape you are talking about in your post. The two best substances I have encountered in my journeys and studies for the scenario of headaches with worsened depression are:

Source Naturals 40mg Resveratrol....this specific brand because they are one of the few that make resveratrol from Polygonum (Japanese Knotweed) instead of from grapes. While the resveratrol itself is a miracle supplement, it's actually the Polygonum we want in your case. One tab or cap 3 times a day, increase as needed. All the various mechanisms of this substance are so widespread it would take at least a chapter in a book (as in Healing Lyme), or even a whole book. Basically we are talking anti-inflammation by multiple mechanisms, anti-toxins, and anti-pathogens.

The second one is Rhodiola Rosea. I favor the Jarrow brand because it is red like it is supposed to be (other brands are gray or brown?) and because it does stuff for me and the other brands did not do the same.

I wish I could say these have been the miracle antidepressants they have been for so many other people, but for me they are mildly helpful in that department, at best. However, the headaches....gone completely, never have them any more.
