Hi everybody,
I saw my dr. today. I had failed a trial of add-on cytomel to my other meds. He asked if I had tried ECT, right at the beginning of my session. He hadn't brought up ECT since my initial visit.
This scared me! I thought I had a couple more medication options to try before ECT. (I cannot afford rTMS). But I have not yet tried the MAOIs, as well as a couple of other things. I asked my pdoc, what are the statistics on ECT. He said about 60% experience some success.
Could he be giving up on me in terms of meds? (I have been having side effects to a lot of things he's tried and I've had to discontinue them).
Could he be thinking of me as intolerant to meds and therefore he thinks ECT is a better route?
This really scares me...
