Low HDL and depression and anxiety

Posted by mrtook on January 12, 2012, at 10:51:26

There seems to be some research floating around that correlates low hdl to incidence of depression and/or anxiety.

Can anyone summarize the current state of research? My google skills seem to be lacking this morning.

I ask because about 6 months ago I started taking Fenofibrate for my abnormally low levels of HDL and I seem to have been feeling really good over this time. (And my HDL has gone up almost 30%).

Does anyone have other anecdotal experiences along this line?
