We have chiropodists (podiatrists) for feet but they are not doctors. I have not heard of a hand doctor!

Interesting. How do you refer yourself? We cannot refer ourselves. GPs co-ordinate these things. They will say 'I am going to refer you to.....' or you can ask to be referred, in which case it is their decision whether they do.

I think your doctors are very specialised but it sounds like they refer most things to someone else!
