Any update? I will be starting another trial of riluzole next week. Seems like once a year or so I get excited about it. My pdoc finds it very compelling option these days given my main issues now are some obsessiveness, bipolar depression is my dx, and lamotrigine causes me memory side effects. I am hoping to give it a fair, long term trial this time for at least 8 weeks as it seems like it takes some time to kick in.
Is it generic now? How much does it cost, and how large of a dose will insurance cover? That was other problem last time, my Insurance only covered 100mg.
The recent research over the past few years is definitely promising, it is super unique and seemingly highly neurotrophic and neuroprotective. Some solid clinical trials going o. Right now too.
So what's the latest? Scott, would you consider trying again? How long and at what dose did you try it for??? Is lamotrigine really working for you and have you tried pushing dose? In rehab I was at they said lamotrigine was doing amazing things at much higher doses like 600-800mg, for even the mot treatment resistant and comorbid depressives and addicts.
