I'm trying so hard to make some headway through this article, but it is something I need to read, and reread, and I'm not sure my summary would be entirely correct. I was hoping to find some hopeful subject for the future of antidepressants for all of us and summarize it up nice for everyone, but it is very heady. I'm trying, but if anyone else wants to jump in with their 2 cents, I would love to hear from you. I'm hoping that what I am reading so far means that they are understanding depression and motivation more, and what happens in the brain, and there are so many parts of the brain affected when someone is stressed, neurons change (?) and can affect someone's drive and motivation.

I especially liked this quote about "Stress area activation":

"Of particular interest is the fact that mood can be elevated almost immediately at the start of stimulation suggesting that long term changes in the positive network are not absolutely essential for the relief of depression although they are required for a full remission."

Immediately??! Relief from depression?!!! I'm still reading on, but this may take awhile. But basically, I was hoping to find some good research that more is being done, since my latest crash and burnout depression was so severe and scary. I wanted to end it all. Now I just want to figure it all out, and end the depression once and for all. Don't we deserve it?
