antipsychotics work on dopamine and serotonin receptors, sometimes other receptors. Its all about tranquilizing somebody by reducing the amount of dopamine hitting their D2 receptors.

BZD work on GABA. They may have an indirect influence on dopamine, but mostly they're sedatives and muscle relaxers.
