In reply to Seroquel? Switching from Geodon to..., posted by Sheilac on February 15, 2011, at 11:04:28
Hey. From your previous posts, it seems like the main thing an antipsychotic would do for you is act as a tranquilizer--keep your agitation and mood swings in check. I don't think you need high doses to get that effect. My guess (I'm not a doctor, so feel free to reject whatever I say) is that Seroquel could do the trick. When I tried Seroquel, my shrink told me it started working as more than just a sedative+antihistamine at around 150-200mgs/day. Have you tried the XR? Maybe if you could ramp up to around that dose in the XR and keep the old style tablets around (for insomnia, maybe) you could see how it works.
Are you still taking the Adderall? I know someone who takes Seroquel+Adderall, and her life has improved greatly--minimal depression, no significant anxiety or agitation, so on and so forth.
