Angels78,
My understanding is that the current version of Nardil still works for some people, but that a lot of long-time Nardil users experienced a worsening of symptoms and an onset of new side effects when the formulation was changed in 2003.
For me, Nardil stopped working after I received what was probably a bad batch of the medication. I noticed a very sudden worsening of my depressive symptoms after I started taking the pills from my suspected bad batch, and I also became *extremely* agitated. When Nardil worked for me, I actually felt less agitated on it, so my suspicion is that there was something very wrong with the last batch of Nardil that I received. Others have also reported receiving bad batches, although I haven't heard any recent reports of bad batches.
If you read messages on this board for long enough, you'll find that Nardil doesn't work for everybody. Just read former poster's post in this thread. The medication stopped working for him/her in 2003 just as it did for a lot of others. How the current version of Nardil differs from the old version is hard to quantify, considering that no published studies have ever compared the efficacy of old Nardil with new Nardil. However, it is my belief that it was no coincidence that so many people started having problems with the medication around the same time.
How long have you been at your current dose of Nardil?
