I've got an anxious depression, atypical depression, Bipolar II, whatever you want to call my neurosis, and am now taking Nardil, which I'm lovin' at the moment. But MAOIs aren't for everyone, that's for sure.
Zoloft made me yawn all the time and feel tired, but some people find it's a stimulating SSRI. Prozac just made me feel numb; I wasn't depressed anymore, but just didn't care about much of anything. Was just going through the motions on Prozac. I found Paxil to be a very calming but energizing drug, so that would get my vote as to what be a good choice. I had to stop Paxil, though, after I gained 20 pounds (almost 10 kg) on it. Liked it very much otherwise.
However, don't forget that almost any AD can induce symptoms of mania, so always be careful in adding one on to your regimen to not "upset the apple cart," and make sure a doc is monitoring you closely if you decide to do this.
