Definitely, lithium is very cheap compared with drugs like Zyprexa and Abilify. It's the blood tests which cost the money.
The prices paid by the UK National Health Service for lithium products are as follows:
Priadel 200mg tablets, £2.30 for 100 tablets
Priadel 400mg tablets, £3.35 for 100 tablets
Camcolit 250mg tabs, £3.09 for 100 tablets
Camcolit 400mg tabs, £4.13 for 100 tabletsCompare this with Zyprexa and there's a big difference!
