Whats a MAOI like for those 'coping' with SSRIs?

Posted by bearfan on July 29, 2010, at 19:20:29

I've now evolved into a long time SSRI user and getting to the point where I may try Parnate. I'd like to get that 'night and day' response that everyone talks about. How is this compared to an SSRI? For me, SSRIs blunt the anxiety and I can go out and work, although I never can be 'the rising star' at the work place where I'm in command of key executive decisions. With Pristiq, and this latest RIMA MAOI (Moclobermide) I just get all this agitation that I don't get with SSRIs. I hate agitation its the kind where I don't really want to do things with people or go in public places. Ihe problem with the irreversible MAOIS is that I am going to be 'out of commission' having to wait nearly weeks off meds and possibly weeks off again to go back to a med that works. My main diagonisis is anxiety with depression. Without treatment, It's in the moderate to severe category.
