seroquel

Posted by markwell on March 6, 2010, at 17:06:18

Last year I was put on 400mgs of seroquel following a manic episode. I was at that time diagnosed with Bipolar 3 from the paxil I was taking. The seroquel seemed to work fine for about 1.5 months. Then I couldn't get up in the morning and I felt drugged all day but I slept great. I thought it was because I was titrating down on my dosage. Anyway I switched to Zyprexa 5mgs in late June and added paxil. I was on paxil alone since Sept and I have felt suicidal several times since then with 2 visits to the ER. I tried abilify with the paxil for about a month back in december. That just made me fat. Anyway, I've been unable to sleep more than 2 hours a night and my pdoc wanted to give seroquel xr a shot. I slept like a baby last night but I feel totally drugged today. Can anything be added to seroquel to combat the fatigue. I have a very physical job and feeling drugged at work is not an option. It's worse than sleep deprivation. Did the seroquel at first not give me side effects because it took 1.5 months for my mania to go away? Will the symptoms be worse the first week and improve from there? Does the somnolence go away? I got up fine this morning, will the first day be the worst or as the seroquel gets in my system will it become harder for me to get up in the am?
