Parnate and Nuvigil (Again)

Posted by mrm1036 on March 3, 2010, at 6:49:27

My diagnosis has always been major depression and the primary symptom has been tiredness, a kind of lethargy.

I'm on:

100mg of Parnate
300mg of Nuvigil
5 mg of Abilify

Originally (about 2 1/2 months ago) I quickly built up a tolerance to Nuvigil which, of course, was not good. But I worked out an arrangement with my wife such that she HIDES the Nuvigil and in the morning she doles out the medication to me.

Combined with the Parnate I've experienced a good effect, without building up a tolerance. The only problem is that I feel a "let down" in the afternoon, anywhere from 2 to 4 pm, which I think is natural. However, I'll ask my psychiatrist to add another 50 mg to Nuvigil to make for 350 mg.

I know this is a very high dose of Nuvigil but I'm "treatment resistant."

Any and all comments are welcomed.

Thanks again.
