ADD ADHD meds question...

Posted by SheilaC on January 24, 2010, at 16:53:57

I did a trial of Vyvanse for ADD - which worked great, but lasted too long in my system and I just couldn't sleep.

No my doc switched me to Adderall IR 5mg. It's ok. Has a few good side effects. But I notice that I am irritable. I don't know if it is because the quick up and down effect or what. I am wondering if I should switch to Adderall XR?

Extended release versions tend to last too long in my body (which is why I think Vyvanse never seemed to wear off). Is there another med that will only last around 6 - 8 hours? Or are they just IR or 12 hour meds?

I've heard irritability is common with Adderall.
