Im thinking ace has learned a lot being on nardil as long as he has,its evident in his posts,and like many maoi long term users probuably know more then the average p-doc.
As for providing better info,i think we need to watch how we report things,in effort to harmlessly pass info,we can unconcously seem to be advovating the info we post,perfect example posting doucments out there on high dose maoi use.
Doesent mean we dont mean well,doesent mean the reader did wrong,its just one of those things.
I stick to the simple term of "maois in high dose treatment" and try to seek any published reliable data,and with my opinion im saying for the first time now,stop telling people to do or that without your doc,i believe we are adults,and if we choose to use the abundance of info out,info thats credable,then how we view a docs invovlment is a personal prefence.
We all share the same goal,which is is simple,inform further then what we get,get well,and stay safe,and everyone has their own way to which they utlize their treatment,if anyone thinks a doc cant be as dangeours as self involment NOT SELF MEDICATING then they had a good doc,i can testify that there are docs who can be just as dangerous,i almost killed myself at 19 due to the lack of information from my doc,had i been told to expect effexor with drawal,what to expect,provided something to aid,i would not have been totaly in the dark and think i was loosing mymind forever,i would have found safty in knowing it would pass,and would have valued any additonal medical help which i soo neded.
Instead i got not a thing from my doc,and with no info or boards at the time still consider myself lucky to have made it through,so imagine why i might not consider a docs invovlement so critical,and again it doesent make the case for everyone,but it also doesent make me irrepsonable to choose to treat myself the way i do today,which is by a 360 method of various borads,u guys my fav!.....published and reliable documents,actual pharmocology and so on,things my doc would never utilize anyway.
