My anxiety is situational rather than general. It is not present continually in the backround. In addition, I was a bipolar ultra rapid-cycler for a few years. The only time that anxiety was present was during the depressive phase. It miraculously disappeared, as did the depression, within an hour of the onset of the mood swing into euthymia.
A person can have two Axis I disorders at the same time. Depression and GAD can occur comorbidly.
